If your OBD-II (On-board diagnostics) scanner cannot connect to your vehicle's OBD-II port, here are other steps to take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Ensure that the OBD-II port is clean and free of debris. Make sure the scanner is plugged in firmly and securely to the OBD-II port.
2. Check compatibility. Double-check if the scanner is compatible with your vehicle application. Some old scanners may not work on newer vehicle models.
3. Inspect the socket terminal pin connectors for any bent ones.
4. Check for blown fuses related to the OBD-II port or the vehicle's diagnostic system.

Check your fuses ..mine on my silverado is in with the cigarette lighter fuse if it blows it won't connect to scan tool.
