Hey there, Douglas!
The clutch slave cylinder on a 1986 Jeep Comanche 2.8L with an external slave cylinder is typically located on the transmission bell housing on the driver's side. It is positioned quite high up making for tight quarters to remove the upper nut & the steel fluid hose. It is connected to the transmission by a push rod that actuates the clutch fork.
Grab a flashlight, get under there, and follow the hydraulic line from the master cylinder (which should be near the brake master cylinder on the firewall) down to where it connects to the slave cylinder on the transmission. You might need to do a bit of crawling, but that's where you'll find it.
Changing out a slave cylinder can be a bit difficult, but with some patience and a few basic tools, you should be able to tackle it.
