Hello Kennesha.
The cooling fan module typically hooks up to the cooling fan relay, which is engaged by a coolant temperature switch. The coolant temperature switch ranges in different temperatures, usually between 160 to 210 degrees Fahrenheit. The cooling fan module also connects to the ECM (engine control module), which controls the cooling fans in some vehicles. The cooling fan module may have a power input and a ground, and it may have multiple terminals for fan connections. To diagnose a cooling fan issue, a voltmeter can be used to check the voltage of the wires going into the cooling fan module.
If your cooling fan assembly is not operating correctly, it's essential to diagnose the issue carefully. Check for blown fuses, damaged wiring, and the operation of the temperature sensor, AC compressor, and relays. If all these components are functioning correctly, and the fan still doesn't work, the cooling fan module itself might be faulty and may need replacement. It's often a good idea to consult your vehicle's service manual or seek the assistance of a professional mechanic for a thorough diagnosis and repair.
