Hello ToyPrime.
There could be several reasons why the auxiliary battery of a 2018 Prius Prime hybrid is repeatedly dying. One possible reason is that the battery is not being charged properly, which could be due to a faulty charging system or some other component of the hybrid system. Another possible reason is that something is draining the battery (parasitic drain) while the car is sitting, such as a current being pulled while the key is off. It is also possible that there is an issue with the battery itself, such as a bad cell, which could cause the battery to die prematurely. To diagnose the issue, a qualified mechanic can check the charging system, key off drain, and battery condition.
Given that you've already experienced multiple battery replacements, it's important to address the root cause of the recurring dead batteries to prevent future failures. A professional mechanic with experience in hybrid vehicles, or a dealership's specialized hybrid service department, may be your best resource for diagnosing and resolving the issue.
