The crankshaft position sensor is located on the engine block, near the crankshaft itself. It is positioned behind the harmonic balancer or the crankshaft pulley. You have to disconnect the negative battery terminal to be safe. You will need to remove other components or accessories obstructing access to the sensor. It may include the drive belt, fan shroud, and other parts. The sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer or crankshaft pulley. The sensor is a small cylindrical shape with an electrical connector. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor and remove the mounting bolts. Replace the sensor. When installing a new one, make sure it is properly aligned and seated in its original position. Bolt tighten the new sensor and connect the wiring connector back. Install all the removed components and connect the negative battery terminal again. I hope this helps!
