The P0010 code on your 2011 Chevy Equinox, is related to the variable valve timing (VVT) system. It specifically indicates an issue with the "A" camshaft position actuator circuit. This code is often triggered by a fault in the camshaft position actuator solenoid, which controls the timing of the intake camshaft. The solenoid may be stuck, damaged, or not receiving proper electrical signals.
While a mechanic forgetting to attach something is unlikely to produce this error, it's worth inspecting the connections and wiring related to the camshaft position actuator solenoid. Other factors that can cause the P0010 code include a defective camshaft position sensor, timing chain issues, or problems with the engine's oil supply.
We suggest having the vehicle checked by a certified mechanic for real-time diagnosis to determine what is causing the error code. Once you've identified which part needs to be replaced, click this link to be directed to our website where your vehicle information has already been entered. Simply enter the part's name into the search field to get started.
We hope this helps. Have a nice day!

I have a 2012 equinox 2.4l lt fwd doing the same thing I haven't replaced anything yet but it's throwing a p0014 code but to me it feels like fuel pump but also the ca shaft position sensor someone suggested the mechanics ain't wanting me to pay them to find out what's wrong and fix it for me two of them told me to just clean the throttle body which I did and when I am still braked at a stop light idiling my car like feels like it's jumping and or just dies! I ain't a mechanic but the last mechanic I took it to mind you he was getting ready to close listened with his car stethoscope and told me like he has my last three vehicles mine you all different makes and models says it's your timing chain which when I bought the vehicle they had just replaced it with a new on I also got a belt squeel when I start it! I guess gonna start at the sensors and work my way to the timing chain which they quoted me would be 2500 to fix ugh sorry I wasn't much help but figured I would answer to you and maybe since it seems to act the same however different codes maybe they might be related will let ya know what happens after I replace the sensors
