Check high and low side lines for temp. Low should be very cold and high should be hot to the touch. Check lines between AC compressor and front Expansion valve if low is cold and high is hot then move to rear expansion valve. Check for same conditions if both lines are luke warm then there is your issue. Expansion valve is Inop.

The general symptoms of a faulty expansion valve are weak, inconsistent, intermittent cooling, hissing, or gurgling sounds coming from the a/c system on certain occasions. At times, the desired temperature (e.g., coldness) is not reached. These symptoms are also caused by a refrigerant leak, a defective compressor, or a clogged condenser. Still, it is best for a certified a/c mechanic to check the problem on your vehicle, since specialize equipment is to be used to test the a/c system overall.
