No you first remove the bearing and inspect it before installing

Hello Paul.
If the back of the bearing came out during installation, it's important to correctly seat it back in place before proceeding with the installation.
It is possible to put the bearing back onto the spindle with a bearing press tool or a hydraulic press, but before doing so, be sure it is correctly aligned and seated. The bearing may be damaged or fail early if it is not properly positioned.
If you don't have access to a bearing press tool or hydraulic press, it's better to take the knuckle and bearing to a professional technician who can re-install the bearing properly for you.
