If the passenger seat is not moving back and forth, it could be due to a malfunctioning seat motor or blockages in the seat track that is preventing the seat from moving. This could be a simple foreign object such as a coin, pen, or debris. It is also conceivable that the track has been damaged over time due to wear and tear, preventing the seat from moving properly.

If no detail was provided, why are you assuming that MY suggestion is wrong? I suggest that you focus on answering the question for the person asking- instead of trying to undermine the opinions of other people trying to help out. It was a SUGGESTION not the answer to the problem. You would OBVIOUSLY check to make sure nothing is blocking the seat from moving. So thanks Captain Obvious for stating what ANYONE would do first in that situation. I’ve been working on cars for 40 years in the auto industry- not just “a parts guy” like you sound like after dictating why you read off of your computer. Your response to my comments just sounds like you’re trying to prove that you’re smarter than me and your “let’s work together” is an asinine way of trying to make someone feel better after calling them stupid.

Lmao this just bothers me. Why bother asking others to answer questions if you’re going to undermine their answers?! Another fail for carparts.com. Customers buy stuff from you guys and I tell them to send it back. Maybe turn off this feature if you’re going to do what you did here. This was the first and last time trying to be helpful on this page. Try to be nice, geez- that’s why people don’t help out other anymore.

I did mention, "If the car has separate horizontal and vertical switches, the problem could be a faulty horizontal seat switch," so I definitely agree with your suggestion. Acura cars have heavy duty, reliable, power seat motors and switches .
Unless your car was in a flood it's most likely a simple fix. Use a flashlight to inspect both rails under the seat.
