The clicking sound you're hearing is likely the starter solenoid attempting to engage the starter motor, but failing to do so.
There are a few possible causes for this issue. One possibility is that the battery isnt providing enough power to start the engine, even though it's new. Another possibility is that the starter motor or starter solenoid is faulty and needs to be replaced. Finally, there may be an issue with the wiring or connections in the starter system that is preventing it from working properly.
Try checking your battery voltage and battery connections. If the voltage is good and the connections are clean, try jump-starting the vehicle. If the engine starts with a jump, this indicates a problem with the battery or charging system.
If jump-starting doesn't work, try tapping the starter motor lightly with a hammer or similar tool while someone else attempts to start the engine. If the engine starts, this indicates a problem with the starter motor or solenoid and they may need to be replaced.
Now, if you're unsure about any of these steps, it's best to take your vehicle to a certified mechanic or dealership for proper diagnosis and repair.

Hi there,
Based on the symptoms you described, it's likely that the issue is with your car's battery. The clicking sound you hear is likely the sound of the starter motor trying to engage but not receiving enough power to turn the engine over. The dashboard lights blinking is also a common symptom of a weak battery.
1. Check the battery: Check the battery terminals to make sure they are clean and tight. If they are dirty or loose, it can affect the battery's ability to provide power. You can also use a voltmeter to check the battery's voltage. A fully charged battery should read around 12.6 volts. If the voltage is lower than 12 volts, it may be time to replace the battery.
2. Check the starter motor: If the battery is fully charged and the jump start doesn't work, the problem may be with the starter motor. A mechanic can test the starter motor to see if it's working properly and repair or replace it if necessary.
3 Check other electrical components: There may be other electrical components, such as the alternator or ignition switch, that could be causing the problem. A mechanic can diagnose these issues and recommend the appropriate repairs.

Of course starting with the basics stated above, don't forget to check your relays and or connection to the battery. Does it have a battery sensor? Any local auto parts store can check your battery and starter for free out or in the vehicle!

The most common causes for clicking noise and no crank in Dodge Journey are weak battery, corrosion on battery terminals, poor starter electrical connection, bad ground connection, and faulty starter motor.

If smacking the starter with something while someone tries to start it go on YouTube and look up how to jump a starter solenoid. Doesn't matter what vehicle is all the same and that'll get it started. Cheap fix you hook up a button to them two points on solenoids you don't have to replace it.
