Hello there.
On a 2012 Ford F150 with a V8 engine, the ignition coils are arranged in two banks of four, with coils A, B, C, and D on the left bank (passenger side), and coils E, F, G, and H on the right bank (driver side) of the engine. Specifically, ignition coil E is third from the front, while ignition coil F is fourth from the front.
The ignition coil E and F primary circuits are the sources of the engine trouble code P2312. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed-out, or corroded connector pins.
If all potential reasons have been ruled out, although ignition coils F and E are malfunctioning, it's likely that other coils may also require replacement, especially if they have been in use for a long time or have been exposed to extreme conditions.
We still recommend consulting with a qualified mechanic or taking your vehicle to a reputable repair shop for real-time and proper diagnosis.
