The noise you're hearing could be a sign of a faulty starter motor or a weak battery. When the starter motor receives the signal to start the engine, it engages a gear on the flywheel of the engine and turns it, allowing the engine to start. If the starter motor isn't engaging properly or the flywheel is damaged, you may hear a grinding or whirring noise when you turn the key.
What you can do is check your battery. Make sure it has enough charge to turn over the engine. If your battery is weak, it may not have enough power to engage the starter motor. You can try charging it or jump-starting your Audi to see if that resolves the issue.
Also, check your starter motor. If the battery is fine, then the starter motor may be the problem. You can have a mechanic check it to see if it's functioning properly. If it's not working correctly, then you may need replace it.
Another thing you can do is inspect your flywheel. A damaged flywheel may not allow the starter motor to engage properly, causing the noise you're hearing. You may need to have the flywheel replaced, too, to resolve the issue.
It's recommended that you have a qualified mechanic inspect and diagnose the issue to ensure that the correct repairs are made.

Your timing chain could have slipped a gear. Get it towed immediately to the shop or you'll need a new engine.
