Because of the gearing like starting out in second or third gear
When I back up an incline, the motor bogs down.This has only happened in reverse.2011 BMW328Xi

Avoid backing up on an incline whenever possible. that should correct the problem instantly. Really tho I think it's probably the gears like the other gentleman said in his answer.
