Hello there.
Three diagnostic trouble codes are a challenge. However, there is no need to replace the engine,
The P0300 engine code indicates a misfiring cylinder(s) problem. The misfiring happens when insufficient gasoline is burnt or when the spark plug gets damaged. Start by inspecting for intake leaks, intake gaskets are major causes of multi-cylinder misfiring. If no leaks are identified the next step is to replace the spark plugs. Click here to learn more.
Trouble code P1148 is Closed Loop Control Function Bank 1. It is an issue with the closed-loop control function of the Bank 1 (nearest to the engine). The car computer does not detect the sensors even when the vehicle is running. Check cables, harness, exhaust leaks, and connectors. Replace the oxygen sensors. The P0031 code is connected to P1148 which is a result of the Bank 1 HO2S1 (pre-catalytic converter heated oxygen sensor) heating element having low voltage. Click here to learn more.
We still suggest having the vehicle checked by a certified mechanic for real-time diagnosis.
