The most logical explanation is that the camera is not powered. That could possibly be due to busted fuse(s) or relay(s) which also affect the a/c and radio navigation. Check the voltage delivered to the camera. Follow the cable lines and check the connectors. A diagnostic trouble code would also be helpful.
