Hello there!
The trouble code is not caused by the fact that you used a Cadillac converter on your Cruze. P0036 refers to the HO2S Heater Control Circuit, Bank 1, Sensor 2 (B1S2). Bank 1 is the converter closest to the engine, while Bank 2 is the sensor usually after the converter (Downstream). The PCM does not receive a signal from the Bank 1 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor heater circuit. We have an article on our blog specifically discussing this trouble code. Here you go!
