Sounds like a bad spark control module/rectifier, heating up and failing to send power to coil packs, but next time it shutdown look under car at catalytic converter if it is dark outside and glowing orange and red it's your converters plugged up and needs replaced ,I've seen same symptoms on more than one bad converter, and not throw any codes, another possibility would be cluster plug pin issue, hope this helps you out, let us know when you figure it out, Im curious
