On a 2014 Ford Escape, the code P0741 indicates that the torque converter clutch solenoid circuit performance is disabled. P0741 is triggered when an onboard computer, known as a PCM, detects a problem with the operation of the torque converter clutch (TCC).
To fix the P0741, you may need to replace the torque converter clutch solenoid or internal wiring in the transmission, at a minimum. I would consider taking your vehicle to a transmission specialist, as they may be able to rebuild only the parts that are needed, as opposed to replacing the whole thing.
