Hello!
Does the ignition lock cylinder feel normal, or does it feel loose, like it may be engaging the "start" position? I would consider disconnecting the battery to investigate a bit. It's possible that the ignition switch itself has failed with an internal short, but it's also possible that the ignition lock tumbler is allowing too much rotation in the ignition switch.
